I'd forgotten how lucky we were to travel so much at that age and, in fact, in those times.

Heidi, I know every nook and corner of the Frankfurt airport. ;) But I've never had that long a layover there, or else when I have, it's always been in the middle of the German night.Supriya Savkoorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10854983392374596718noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8018311341701044333.post-73223521490799682492010-12-01T23:57:14.619-05:002010-12-01T23:57:14.619-05:00Those long 24-hour trips to distant destinations c...Those long 24-hour trips to distant destinations can be a killer if all you do is walk around the layover airport for hours. But they can be another adventure if you take a daytrip, like you mentioned, Supriya. On our last trip to Iran, we had 7 hours between flights in Frankfurt and met a friend of mine for lunch and a walking tour of downtown (which included a stop at the most fascinating chocolate shop - every flavor and shape you can imagine).Heidi Noroozyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03351899620446316075noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8018311341701044333.post-42580823251367160262010-12-01T20:43:03.821-05:002010-12-01T20:43:03.821-05:00Yes, I'll agree with you there, Kathy. Traveli...Yes, I'll agree with you there, Kathy. Traveling and learning new cultures can shape young minds and inspire a sense of adventure that will be with them forever. Supriya, how fortunate you've been able to experience all that you have and can now pass it on to your kids.Alli Sinclairhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00363202163419352155noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8018311341701044333.post-70728997438955666922010-12-01T12:26:44.948-05:002010-12-01T12:26:44.948-05:00I lived in Columbus, OH for a year so I understand...I lived in Columbus, OH for a year so I understand the pain. :) But it's so fabulous when kids get to travel at a young age. I'm always the most impressed with families in a nice restaurant, for example, who have clearly taught their children how to behave so that it's second nature. Traveling also gives them much-needed and varied life experience.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
